THE changes to the Southern Link Road have created a lot of debate, with some safety changes already implemented.
However, no mention has been made about the horrendous blindspot at the roundabout after you have come off the M5 at junction 7.
The dedicated exit to Malvern is a great idea, but it is really difficult to see traffic coming round from Worcester, although not impossible.
What is impossible is seeing the cars that jump the queue by going in the left lane for Worcester, but turning left to Malvern.
Talk has been had about the fact that Malvern drivers are not giving way and using the exit as a slip road, but that might well be because you can't see or trust what might be coming from the right to give way to. If you do use it like a slip road, vision is improved.
I go right round the roundabout as I feel that is the safest option, or sometimes through Worcester itself – not what the planners intended, I am sure.
