I WAS completing the response to the Land North East of Malvern consultation, where the website is bizarrely called “sustainablemalvern”.
For this site to be truly sustainable surely it should remain as productive farmland providing a backdrop to the hills, as mentioned by your correspondents?
As a former councillor for the area I should make it clear that the local councillors have had minimal involvement in the scheme.
Similarly, despite me being the county councillor for the area, neither the developer nor Worcestershire County Council engineers have contacted me about the revised road system.
I congratulate Phil Grove on having grabbed control of the Conservative group on Malvern Hills District Council and starting work on the "herculean task of cleansing the planning stables", including drawing in expertise across the political spectrum
Let us hope that Phil Grove reviews the whole process he has inherited and creates a plan supported by the people of Malvern
Paul Tuthill
Malvern Link county and town councillor
