Sir - One of the reasons we need so many new houses is because families split up.
If more funding was put into supporting families in difficulty (affordable childcare, counselling etc.) perhaps they'd have more chance of staying together. Even so, what half of a family can afford a 4+bedroomed house of the type that make up a large percentage of these proposed developments? Is there evidence to show that there is local housing need for large families?
How can ever-more developments continue to be viewed as 'sustainable'? What, in fact, does that actually mean?
At what point does someone decide that the limit for sustainability has been reached?
Do we all wait until Leigh Sinton joins up with Bransford as well as Malvern, before someone notices that we physically cannot accommodate further housing?
At which point I am certain that many would bemoan the loss of green space, beauty and rural living that we once had. Too late then.
Mrs Christina Walker
Leigh Sinton
