LEDBURY needs to take a leaf out of Malvern’s book and give serious consideration to a science park.
The aim would be to spawn high technology industry, which in turn could lead to an enlargement of the service sector.
All of these would provide local employment opportunities.
If government departments continue to be devolved away from London, Ledbury should be prepared to accept part of one of them.
There is enough disused crown property in the town, including the old multi-storey telephone exchange, to enable a start to be made.
Ultimately, greenfield sites around Ledbury would have to be converted to alternative use if we are to avoid the scenarios described in your report.
