I HAVE just read Councillor David Hughes's local council election leaflet in which one of the key promises he makes to the people of Leigh Sinton is to "protect the significant gap policy".
Councillor Hughes may have a short memory, but the residents of Leigh Sinton certainly don't.
I, for one, clearly remember David Hughes almost single-handedly persuading the Conservative-led planning committee to allow the Cala Homes housing development in the north end of the significant gap.
The people living near Kiln Lane and Chapel Close have 53 reasons to remember.
Rumour now has it that another 100-plus houses are planned for Leigh Sinton, many of which will once again be in the significant gap!
If this plans come before the planning committee, do the residents of Leigh Sinton really want another four years of Conservative domination in a council led by David Hughes?
I certainly don't, so I will be taking the necessary action at the polling booth on May 7.
