I AM delighted to see that the Conservative group on Malvern Hills District Council is able to offer every ward the chance of electing a Conservative to one of the 38 district council seats.

The record of this last council is one of solid achievement, and leaves their successors in a sound position to continue to make difficult decisions on behalf of the whole district.

Over the last four years there have been a number of your readers throwing stones from the sidelines. I am pleased to see that some have been brave enough to put themselves forward for election.

Once they become better informed I think they will find that you cannot "please all of the people all of the time" and sometimes the highly vocal minority will be disappointed.

As far as families supporting each other, I think it tremendous that they are prepared to commit their spare time to public service.

I have seen at first hand over the last four years the good work done on behalf of their residents by all members of the council, and note that the Conservatives are not alone in recognising the mutual benefit of family members serving the district.
