I WAS truly taken aback on my first visit to the newly restored Master's House in Ledbury.
What a wonderful sight! From the outside, I could see it was a really fine Tudor house, but the reception area inside is breathtaking.
You are both in a Tudor Medieval mall, and in the 21st century, with its technology being used by the friendly reception staff.
As a Ledbury resident, may I offer my congratulations to the architects, and craftsmen of Speller Metcalfe, to the Herefordshire and Ledbury Town Councils, to the Heritage Lottery Fund, to the staff and volunteers, and all concerned in this magnificent project.
Ledbury has another historic gem to be proud of, but which is also like the Master's House of old – dedicated to the community.
It is a real community centre offering a fine library, along with poetry, history, practical advice, and opportunities to volunteer.
Through Ledbury Food Bank, it even dispenses aid to those in temporary difficulties.
What a wonderful asset for the whole town, and the many visitors it will have!
It will lift our spirits!
