THE images of the proposed cable car supplied to the Malvern Gazette by Malvern For All are hugely deceptive.

They show no signs of pylons or cabins on or near the skyline, let alone pictures of the supposed multitudes of joy riders, attendant litter and large car parks.

Last weekend a concerned estate agent told me his firm had already experienced the negative effects of the cable car threat.

As a result, two clients had withdrawn from the purchase of luxury flats in properties near Rosebank Gardens.

Home owners in Foley Terrace, St Ann’s Road and Abbotsfield, which is immediately below the proposed lower station, are also very concerned about the possible decrease in their property values.

Let us hope the Acts of Parliament, recently upheld by Malvern Hills Conservators Board, preventing encroachment and desecration of the Malvern Hills prevail.

Not mentioned in all the publicity is the fact that there is a national obesity crisis.

Perhaps Malvern For All’s motto could be ‘From the Fat Fryer to the Fat Flyer’.

Hotels and Eateries in Great Malvern might benefit from the cable car, but not the health of the population at large!
