EXCUSE me for being controversial, but why is it necessary for every location in this country, and by extension every location in the world to be accessible by everyone?

While I have every sympathy for those who because of whatever disability they have would find it difficult to get to the top of the Malvern Hills, I also would say, sorry, but that’s just tough!

No, I’m not being harsh. There are lots of people who can’t run a marathon, or swim the Channel, or climb Everest.

Is anyone advocating a lift to the top of Kilimanjaro? No!

The beauty of the Malvern Hills is the fact that they are bare of industry, they are natural (as natural as the Conservators allow) so this nonsense of a cable car is exactly that, a nonsense.

This won’t attract visitors to the town. People come here to experience the hills as they are, so promote them (we don’t do that), and let’s be honest, if you’re in a wheelchair, drive to the Beacon car park and you have a tarmac path all the way to the top!

A tough push, but no gain without pain!
