WITh regard to the correspondence about cyclists, I agree that motorists should be considerate, especially as cyclists are vulnerable.

However, cyclists should also be considerate to other road users and cycling two (or more) abreast causing a tailback of traffic is not only inconsiderate but somewhat arrogant.

I travel on country roads regularly and often get stuck behind farm vehicles.

They don't have any choice but to block the road, but most will pull over to let other traffic pass when they can.

Why do cyclists feel justified blocking the road when they're out for a weekend jaunt and could easily let others pass?
