READING recent letters concerning the pros and cons of a cable car to the Malvern Hills has made me lament the fact that I am unable to draw.

Were I able to do so I would endeavour to produce the following cartoons, done in the style of Victorian illustrations to the Malvern Water Cure:

Cartoon 1 would depict a chain of poor donkeys, legs splayed, noses almost forced to the ground, struggling up hill with their loads of seriously overweight passengers.

Cartoon 2 would show a cable car with its overhead cable seriously flexed and obese passengers bulging out of its windows. A fat child is seen falling from one of these with the caption, "Don't worry, he's sure to bounce back".

So, come on, all you aspiring cartoonists, rise to the challenge!

As a footnote I might add that I'm 88 years of age, but still enjoy a walk up to the Beacon.
