WHAT a delight to see an artist’s impression of cable cars on the hills in the Gazette (January 9).
It could be a delight to residents and visitors alike, and as much of an attraction as the cable cars in the Alps.
The Conservators had a much-loved cafe on the Beacon until recently and their chairman’s comments on the law cannot be considered as decisive.
If there were any willingness on the part of the Conservators to explore the matter, a way could be found to provide a valuable facility for the town and its visitors as well as protecting a unique and special environment.
Change will come and it should be managed beneficially rather than blindly obstructed.
