FIRSTLY, I would like to congratulate Graham Jones on his letter (Gazette, December 26).
I did think it was only me that had an issue with the cherry-coloured sacks.
I too do not have a wheelie bin, and never will have.
If they don't give us the bags then don't recycle, just put it black bags to landfill with a clear conscience.
Secondly, in the same edition, Cllr Adrian Hardman openly admits that a two per cent rise in council tax will not be popular.
Well, of course, it won't be!
I would agree that child and elderly care has to be protected, but we resent paying more and seeing our services cut and wasted on things half-measure road improvements such has the one-mile dualling of the A4440 southern link road that will funnel into the Carrington Bridge one way and into Crookbarrow Way the other, probably causing greater congestion as we have now.
Which brings me to the third point from the same edition, and that is Worcester parkway station.
Yes, it is needed. But after taking time to visit one of the consultation exhibitions, I was gobsmacked to learn that the Cotswold line will only be a single platform!
This clearly indicates that there is to be no investment to double the track on the rest of the line to Worcester.
Surely, money would be better spent on this before a new station is constructed.
