In reply to Pete Atkins (Letters, December 12), I would like a list of the shops and restaurants you will attend so I can avoid.
How can one call dogs unhygienic when every day money is passed into hands that may not have been washed after visiting the toilet.
And I don't hear of any one catching a cold from a dog, but you do from other humans – along with more illnesses.
If the dogs in question are well behaved they should be welcomed because these days our canine friends help saves lives in war, cancer research other disease research, and enable those with disabilities to live independent lives.
So a paws up for our dog-friendly town, and a thumbs down to those who disagree.
