WHAT a peculiar article on Councillor Paul Swinburn's departure to Devon.
It read like a defence against a standards board complaint.
Hardly the end of an era when he has only been in politics for three years.
Where were the glowing endorsements from residents and fellow councillors?
Why didn't he mention his real achievements?
He championed former chief executive Chris Bocock's golden handshake, the South Worcestershire Development Plan and sharing senior managers with Wychavon.
Last week he pushed through a development on land next to Councillor David Hughes's land.
He was also keen to pass the Powick development on asbestos-contaminated land.
So to be honest, I am relieved to hear that Paul Swinburn is giving up politics and moving to Devon.
Shame he didn't do it sooner though.
