WHAT a glorious pantomime the Malvern Hills District Council full council was.

Cllr Paul Cumming must think the £400,000 spent on sharing a chief executive was sent by Father Christmas, not the Government, as he is sure it is not taxpayers' money.

Cllrs David Hughes and Paul Swinburn put the other 36 councillors on the naughty list and banned them from entering the council house.

This led to a wonderful tale from Cllr Roger Hall Jones about his having to deliver his notice of motion about said ban to staff in the council car park.

Much hilarity abounded as councillors pointed out to the leaders that is was impossible to do as they were now required to ask all questions to officers before council meetings as they had all been banned from going to the council house!

To top it off they got into a terrible mess trying to sort out amendments.

Thankfully, the new chief executive became the hero of the hour.

He restored access for the councillors and averted the legal team from a disaster.

The two ugly sisters had their plans thwarted and almost all had a happy ending.

But joking aside, I shouldn't be leaving a council meeting crying with laughter. I should leave having confidence that our leaders have everything under control.

The election cannot come soon enough.
