WORCESTERSHIRE County Council’s allocation to prevent flooding is due to be cut from £117,000 to £78,000, i.e. 33 per cent.
The county now risks going backwards as far as flood control is concerned.
On the other hand, Britain is to hand over an expected £600 million to fight global warming in parts of Africa, including cash to build sea and flood defences.
I have no problem with targeted foreign aid such as tackling Ebola, but surely we should sort out our own flood problems before helping other parts of the world?
