I MUST give a big thank-you to Councillor Tom Wells for being open, honest and consistent for telling the public about the extravagant pay-out to Chris Bocock, chief executive of Malvern Hills District Council.
Why should we not know where our money is spent?
£173,000 on one person? Now I know the meaning of “you have got to be in it to win it”! Malvern Hills District Council are pleading poverty, but they have sold off several council-owned buildings in Malvern that are being developed into retirement apartments, and they have just put the grade II-listed building in the park for sale at £500,000.
This council is not looking after the people of Malvern, but they are getting through our assets at a rapid speed.
The hub is now in the library, and has taken up so much space. Also, it is not a private place to talk or wait to be seen.
I wonder how long it will be before all the council buildings are sold and then they will have to rent space.
I have requested under the Freedom of Information Act a full account of how much money they have raised through the sales and where the money has gone as I for one will not be paying any increase in my council tax this year because they do not realise the value of money!
I too am on a budget!
