PRIOR to the Conservative-led planning committee meeting in January, Malvern Hills District Council incorrectly told objectors they would only be able to speak for a total of three minutes.

The local government ombudsman found "evidence of fault" by the council but they got away with this violation without rebuke.

Two Conservative members of the executive committee took part in the June standards committee meeting thereby breaching their constitution. They were allowed to get away with this abuse without reproach.

At October's northern area development management committee (NADMC) meeting, Cllr David Hughes (Conservative) voted to allow a housing development on land owned by a Conservative colleague's partner.

The agent fronting this development is the same agent who is leading Cllr Hughes's own development at his farm in Alfrick.

There have been complainants (including from Cllr Clive Smith) suggesting that Cllr Hughes's own interests are in conflict with his duty as a councillor, but he is allowed to get away with it.

Councillor Tom Wells (Liberal Democrat), in keeping the public informed about the chief executive's outrageous redundancy package has been charged with breaching his code of conduct!

Clearly, there is one law for the Tories and one law for everyone else!
