THERE is nothing like experiencing the reality of some people’s everyday lives to give you a proper sense of perspective.
Last Thursday, I was both humbled and privileged to be invited to celebrate with staff and residents the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Springs Nursing and Residential Home in Malvern Link, which specialises in helping those suffering with dementia.
The staff and volunteers do a truly incredible job in improving the lives of residents suffering the most debilitating of conditions, and bringing relief and support to their friends and relatives.
The afternoon I spent there with the residents was both joyous and rewarding.
I would like to thank the staff for inviting me and making me so welcome.
And I would like to thank them – and all those others in our caring professions – for undertaking such challenging but invaluable work. They are each worth a dozen politicians!
