WHY has the car park in Victoria Road been included in the blueprint for the SWDP?

This is used by many people wishing to use the library, shops etc. This development will not fit in with the gracious properties that reflect the origins of the town's history.

Instead, Chris Bocock, Chief Executive of MHDC, must be influential in putting forward the council's 'private car park' for development, behind nos 10 and 12 Priory Road. This is a genuine defunct brownfield site which was a plant nursery. The Council House and the planning department both have car parks where they use permits, but the rest of us have to pay and then only after 7.30pm and at weekends.

This is 'council elitism' and in the present climate is unacceptable. No more privileges for council employees. Victoria Road car park must be taken off the SWDP and be replaced with the Priory Road car park.
