THIS concerns section 161 of the Highways Act which says it is an offence for children to kick footballs on the highway as to cause a nuisance to others.
We have had many issues with this in the past with damage to border flowers being snapped off, damage to car mirrors, and smashed solar lights.
At one stage a gang was using the front of our car as target practice. The more you asked them to stop the more they did it.
There are play areas laid on by the council within a short walk which should be used not, only for children's safety but to stop cars parked in the road being hit.
Festival housing has had complaints in the past in various areas on these issues with some signs going up, but it would be hard to deal with as it is a police matter.
It also should be a parental control issue.
