Malvern already has a proud musical tradition

IT was interesting to read about the Malvern Rocks Festival (Gazette, July 25), and that they are "trying to put Malvern on the map for musicians and music-lovers".

And not before time. It is a view that will be echoed by Peter Smith and the wonderful Autumn in Malvern Festival, the excellent Malvern Concert Club, the Festival Chorus and other local choirs, not least Piers Maxim and the Priory Choirs, the English String Symphony Orchestra at Christ Church, the concerts at the Forum.

I could go on... not forgetting Elgar himself.

Yes, if only we could associate Malvern with music.
