WALKING the hills this week, I noticed signs asking walkers to take care with dogs and keep them on the path. The reason? Ground-nesting birds. Very laudable.
Walk a little further and I find that machinery has been used to clear the very bracken and scrub that is probably ideal for ground-nesting birds.
Since I doubt any ground-nesting chicks would have survived the cutting, could I ask which eco-warrior thought this one up for mid-June?
