FOR more than 20 years Pickersleigh Residents’ Group (PRG) have fought to maintain Hayslan Fields as green open space, and we continue to do this.
The communities with homes bordering these fields, together with the wider Malvern public, value and much appreciate this open space, which is often referred to as the ‘green lung’ of Malvern.
The residents' group has in the past received considerable support from our members and the general public. We need this support to continue and we welcome new supporters in our fight to keep these fields as open space.
The developers have recently published a draft plan with some artist impressions.
The plan states that a mixture of 150 house types will be built on the site and a photo inset depicts a three-story dwelling. The only access will be along Hayslan Road.
However, when the real plan is submitted as a planning application it is essential that those of us who object write to Malvern Hills District Council planning department and clearly state our concerns.
An open meeting will be held by PRG at the Barnards Green Cricket Club at 7.30pm on May 20.
This space provides a very precious amenity which is situated in the midst of an urban environment already saturated with houses and concrete.
We need to keep this green open space.
