In response to the article about a proposed rise in prices of using a taxi in Malvern may I remind your readers about the excellent services available from Community Action.

Now in it's 42nd year, Community Action continues to offer transport services and relief of social isolation to the elderly and disabled in the Malvern area.

A further minibus was purchased just this month in order to continue the service within the local community.

An elderly or disabled person in possession of a bus pass will only have to pay £5.50 for a car journey (door to door) both ways. The volunteer driver will collect the resident from their home, take them to the appointment, wait for them and escort them home again safely, often stopping to pick up a pint of milk or a prescription along the way.

New services now include trips to a film club, a tea dance and our regular tea club as well as the continuation of Shoparound minibus trips.

This invaluable community service is run as a business whilst registered as a charity and is supported by many local people who continue to donate and fund raise in order to maintain excellence.
