Could I add my support to Angela Smith's letter last week (January 31), in which she expressed concern about offering rescue dogs and cats to the public.
I have also had a bad experience with a rescue dog, and found myself in a situation that proved to be unfair both to me and the dog.
I often feel that animal charities push us into accepting these dogs and cats by means of emotional blackmail.
I shan't be caught out again, especially when I hear of the six-figure salaries that are paid to the chief executives of the top animal charities (mentioning no names), but at least four of them are very well-known.
