Leader should go

First published in Letters

WITH all that is going on at Malvern Hills District Council (lack of transparency and openness and the planning officers’ miscalculation of our fiveyear housing supply), I would not want a further straight-jacket on our councillors to slip through unnoticed.

The leader and his deputy wish to bring in job descriptions. In the description for councillors it says they must hold to account the leader, deputy leader and senior managers.

As Councillor Hughes is so keen to push through these documents, I fully expect all councillors to hold him to account for recent events.

I believe he should resign as leader as this council’s failings fall at his feet and his alone.
