THIS year the Art for Amnesty exhibition and sale was a great success and the total takings of £2,078 were the third best out of the 13 years of the exhibition.
It was held once again by kind permission of the Quakers on the premises of the Friends Meeting House and again we were grateful to be able to use their facilties.
Many thanks to Peter Smith who gave a fascinating introductory speech at the opening of the exhibition and to artist Elaine Bentley whose professional mounting of the artists’ work gave the room an instant appeal with its clear-cut and attractive layout.
Thanks to all the talented artists and volunteers who gave their skills and time to make this a brilliant week of art, co-operation and fund-raising, and to the public and their support for the work of this important humanitarian charity. They are all much appreciated.
