PREMIER Inns propose to develop a hotel in Townsend Way.
Hard-headed hoteliers take a long-term view when appraising growth.
They clearly do not see sufficient business trade coming to our area for any of the A-list hotel chains to take up a coveted location by the river and cricket ground.
The Malvern Hills District Council economic development strategy reports that “Malvern is a wonderful place, once you have struggled to get here”.
Lack of road access is at the crux of Malvern’s economic future and yet the local authorities seem content that a section of dual carriageway is enough.
What is clearly needed is a planned third route to cross the Severn ready for when funding again starts to flow.
