THE new football club at the bottom of Slring Lane was built across a water course.
Anyone who walked the fields regularly knew how water logged the middle of the field became.
After a night of heavy rain the water gushes onto the tarmac at the back of the club, around both sides of the clubhouse and onto the football pitch in two streams.
Despite earth works and soakaways under the pitch it is now unuseable.
Festival Housing have applied for planning permission to build on a field between Tennyson Drive and Pickersleigh Grove.
Again, another field which becomes waterlogged in winter but which the housing assocaition believe they can control.
Water doesn’t go away, and with even less ground to soak it up after houses are built where will the water back up?
