WE have read carefully the outline of the proposed Lawnside development in the Ledbury Reporter and must express complete amazement at the project.
The access roads for the planned new store cannot be widened and would become completely blocked by the large delivery vehicles servicing the supermarket.
Hereford has started the construction of a large outof-centre shopping complex during a major recession and when a large number of city centre shops have been empty for months.
By entertaining this scheme, Ledbury is once again contemplating the destruction of the independent shops, which make up its high street by inviting in another unwanted supermarket group, in the aftermath of the most severe recession for more than 50 years.
We are left wondering what planet these town councils live on?
