 I WANT to send out a massive thank you to the gentleman on the Malvern Hills Tuesday night that went out of his way to find the owner of a lost car key.

I went out running with my dogs around 5.30pm at the clock tower and failed to close my pocket.

I was on the hills for around 40 mins only realising the key was missing on returning to the car. I started to retrace my steps (after calling my husband asking for help and a torch) realising it was getting dark and my hope of finding it were small.

After about 10minutes we encountered a man coming back down the hill who asked if we were looking for a car key.

What I found more amazing Than that he had found it was the lengths he had gone to to find the owner of the car.

He had located the car and taken the registration number to ensure he didn’t give the key to just anyone, rang VW to see if they could trace the cars owner and then spent the rest of his time walking the hills asking people if they had lost a car key.

I was warmed to know that there are some upstanding decent people in the area.

I was so delighted with the return of the key and stunned by finding out what he had done I felt awful I didn’t get his name!
