Caring town

ON Sunday, January 27, my father, who is 92, was enjoying Sunday lunch with my brother and sister at the Talbot in New Street, Ledbury when he began to choke.

It was traumatic and frightening but fortunately there were two first aiders and a St John Ambulance officer also lunching at the Talbot.

They worked quickly on my father and prevented what was undoubtedly a life-threatening incident.

Dad was taken by two paramedics in an ambulance to Hereford A&E and discharged in the early evening.

We would like to thank all those involved, especially the medics who gave their time and expertise, also the friendly and efficient staff at the Talbot.

How lucky we are in Ledbury to live in such a caring community.
