Waste of my time

YESTERDAY I wasted 65 minutes of my time renewing my Malvern Hills resident’s parking permit online. Prior to the introduction of this now compulsory method, it would have taken 10 minutes, combining a visit to the Hub with a trip to the library.

The website has clearly been designed by someone for whom the words ‘userfriendly’ have little significance.

In addition, those who do not have a computer at home must now go to the library and ask for help to navigate the system from the long-suffering employees.

Although I appreciate the desperate need to cut council expenses it should be done in a manner that allows for ease of use by all.

Well, you couldn't have renewed it yesterday because the hub shuts on Sundays.
Should they open on Sundays do you think?

On a more serious note. Many gov sites seem to be created by IT people who know about computers but not humans. Hence the unuseable nature of the interface.

Sorry Sue I can't agree having recently renewed my parking permit online. The process took me no more than ten minutes and the new parking wheel arrived promptly within 48 hours.
A pretty good service I'm sure you will agree!

As the council and police can't agree upon who enforces double yellow lines, meaning no one gives out tickets....I save myself the 10+ minutes and the cost of a permit by parking illegally.

It also gets me excellent parking spots right outside my favourite shopping destinations.

Hope that helps

Nathan seems to have right methodology. The only need is to keep a look out for people in strange uniforms and a little machine in their hand.
