I WOULD like to thank all Malvern residents who wrote letters, signed the petition, and lobbied their councillors about the proposed removal of parking spaces outside Barnards Green Post Office.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts we have been able to negotiate with the interested parties and reach a mutually acceptable conclusion.

This took everyone’s views into account, while maintaining the vital car parking spaces.

Thanks are due to councillors Harding and Brown, who worked hard to negotiate an acceptable outcome for Barnards Green and also to the Malvern Gazette who highlighted and supported our campaign.

We are very lucky that ‘The Green’ is one of a dying breed of traditional high streets with a high number of proprietor-owned establishments.

We have a fresh fish shop, an independent greengrocer, butcher and delicatessen, plus independent bakers, a toy shop, sweetie shop, post office and a host of other quality businesses.

We in turn will repay your loyalty by arranging free puppet shows for children as part of our Barnards Green Extravaganza on December 8 and on Fridays and Saturdays in December we have free parking.

Thanks again and please continue to ‘Shop Local’.
