Harsh winter?
8:00am Thursday 22nd November 2012 in Letters
THE shrubs in our garden are weighted down with huge numbers of berries.
My Granny always said that a show of berries in the autumn meant that was a harsh winter ahead of us.
I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any truth in this?

I have heard that very same tale from my Grandma who is long gone now.
Her story had to believe due to the fact she also said, she could never remember it raining during her school holidays. This is a story that I can concur. During our six weeks school holidays, I also cannot recall any bad weather days either.
