I SEE Malvern is twinned with Marianske Lazne.
This has been kept very quiet. I was not aware that we even had a Malvern Twinning Association.
The first I knew of it was on seeing a poster in a shop window, later to be confirmed in your excellent publication.
I know the idea of twinning with a town in Europe was in an attempt at reconciliation and friendship immediately following the Second World War, is there really still a need for this?
I’m afraid that I am now very cynical, and question all moves by politicians. It seems to me this is just an excuse for a foreign jolly, no doubt at our expense.
