I CAN’T believe it’s nearly time for our next talk: it doesn’t feel long since the October one!
Anyway, the talk on November 25 will be given by Tony Atkinson, proprietor of The Map Shop in Upton. Incidentally, it’s a fascinating place to visit, even if you don’t need a map! He will be talking about the history of maps and map-making.
I remember doing some surveying and map-making as part of my A-level Geography course: it was great fun as well as educational.
We do hope that you will be able to join us for the last talk of 2016, as usual, it will be at the Burgage Hall at 7.30pm and guests are welcome.
It was very satisfying to see so many of you at the Chedworth talk, it makes me feel that the subjects of the programme appeal to you.
If you have any bright ideas for other topics, please do let me know.
MARY WINFIELD
