THE well-attended Annual General Meeting took place on November 9.

The officers and committee were elected, with Margaret Coulson continuing as President; the annual accounts were then approved. Margaret thanked all committee members for their service, and also the many other members who had contributed to the ongoing success of the WI.

When the formalities had been completed members had a fun time making their hats in preparation for the Christmas party in December. Mary Stuart instructed us on an ingenious method of making them from old Christmas cards with the aid of a stapler. The result was a great selection of brightly coloured hats which fitted all sizes of heads and really looked quite fetching!

For this month’s competition, members brought a wonderful selection of old family photographs. Entries are voted for using coins, with the proceeds going to the ACWW (Associated Country Women of the World) a charity which offers mutual support, friendship and practical help to women and communities around the world.

The next meeting will be a Christmas Celebration at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 14 December at the Parish Room of the Catholic Church New Street Ledbury HR8 2EE.
