ON Thursday 3 November The Chase School gave a super lunchtime concert to a delighted audience as part of Lunch Box in Great Malvern Priory.

The music consisted of well-known pieces for instrumental groups and some soloists and included Skyfall by Adele sung by Thea Ramsey, Amberlea Roberts, Phoebe Collins, Natalie Ford, Hannah Barber and Lauren Lewis-Farley. Lizzie Jones gave an accomplished rendering of the haunting song “Empty Chairs and Empty Tables” from Les Miserables. Thea Ramsey (cello), Sasha Boyer (guitar), Cerys Wilks, Lucy Colbourne and Elizabeth Newitt (violin) played Pachelbel’s Canon. Sasha, Cerys, Thea, Lizzie and Amy Montgomery performed “Let it Be” by Lennon and McCartney. Lizzie and Natalie sang a duet “No-one is Alone” from Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and the finale was “A Wandering Minstrel” from The Mikado performed very ably by Fabian Sturman dressed in Chinese costume complete with conical hat. Thanks go to Mrs. Sally Livingstone and Mrs. Trudie Garwood-Gowers from the Chase for organising the concert, which was greatly appreciated by all those who came along.

The next Priory Lunch Box is a talk by Patrician Wilkin, the Head Guide at Eastnor Castle on The History and Contents of Eastnor Castle. Bring your own lunch to eat beforehand at 12.30. Tea, coffee and cake available. The half hour talk starts at 1pm.
