CaCoffany proved to be very popular last Saturday and a large group of singers enjoyed a varied programme of hymns, relating to the themes of Remembrance and Fireworks, followed by coffee and cake. We were grateful to Carleton Tarr for joining us on Saturday as our guest musician. As well as playing for two of our hymns, Carleton played some contemplative organ music during the interval. Next month we shall be singing our way through a programme of Christmas music and will extend the length of social time afterwards to allow for shopping at a variety of stalls in the church. The CaCoffany Christmas Special takes place on Saturday 3 December 10.00-12.00, when local parishioners and visitors alike will be assured of a warm welcome.

This Sunday we mark Remembrance Sunday with our annual service which includes laying the wreath at the war memorial in the churchyard. We are delighted to be able to include the Last Post and The Rouse this year, thanks to Tim Hughes who will be playing trumpet for this on this occasion. This Sunday, 13 November, we gather in the church at 10.45am for notices before moving into the churchyard for the memorial ceremony. The service will continue afterwards in the church when The Revd Chris Moss will lead us in the traditional service and include an inspiring address. Refreshments will be provided afterwards. All are welcome to join us for this moving act of worship.
