At a recent AGM, Malvern Festival Chorus voted to appoint tenor James Oxley as their President. James, who lives locally, has appeared at all the major concert halls in London, at Symphony Hall Birmingham and Philharmonic Hall Liverpool, as well as at the Three Choirs Festival. Further afield, his engagements have taken him throughout Europe and to San Francisco, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

The chorus are also delighted to announce that James will join them as tenor soloist for their performance of Alexander's Feast by G F Handel at Malvern Theatres on Saturday 26th November, 7.30pm. They invite you to join them for this great opportunity to hear James perform in Malvern.

Dramatic and pictorially vivid, Alexander’s Feast is a setting to music of a libretto adapted from John Dryden’s ode with the same name, which celebrates the power of music. Handel’s Alexander’s Feast is considered by many to be a stylistic turning point in his work, away from opera towards oratorio, with the chorus now playing a significant role.
