THE village Quiz Night last Saturday evening was a great success. The winners went home with a grand prize and everyone had a good time. Thanks to those who arranged it and to the wonderful Quiz Masters, Steve and Jean.

The Harvest Service and the lunch which followed were well-attended and there was a magnificent spread of food in the Memorial Hall. Thanks to all who contributed towards this and for the ‘back room ladies’ who worked so hard in the kitchen.

There has been much coming and going in the village recently. We welcome Mark and Pat Beaumont who arrived three weeks ago, and have taken up residence in Ledbury Road, and we say ‘see you soon’ to Simon and Ann whose house they have bought.

Welsh Water have been advised that there will be roadworks and possible road-closure on Beggars Ash from Monday 24 October to Wednesday 26. Be prepared!

Western Power Distribution have given a number which may be used in the case of a power outage: the number is 105 and it is a free call. You may report a problem or ask for information.

Other village activities continue as usual. The weather has turned chilly, so it’s time to stock up on firewood or check that your heating system is working well.

And a thought to end with: ‘One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.’

Have a lovely week ahead!
