WHAT a pleasant surprise our September meeting was. Some of us had not realised it was thirty nine years since the present WI was formed in Malvern Wells, it became the 'Wells and Wyche WI'
We had been asked to bring buffet food, and as usual the WI excelled themselves, and it turned out to be a very friendly and sociable evening.
The Committee had found and enlarged a photograph taken at the inaugural meeting in 1977. which had been inserted in the Malvern Gazette with an introduction.
Some of us recognised ourselves, and what surprised me most was the clothes we wore. We were dressed for Winter, with Jackets, Polo neck Jumpers or both. How the temperature has changed, Most of us in 2016 wore Summer Dresses.
The evening concluded with a quiz, where all the answers were flowers. Most of us answered extremely well.
A few days after the meeting, We were serving tea and Scones at Malvern Wells Fete, for the many people that attended
Forthcoming regular events are: Two different Book clubs; Gardening club; Craft and Patchwork class; Lunch Club and Hand bell ringing.
Further events include a Skittles evening
Our October meeting on Thursday 13th October, will also be tasty and indulgent
We welcome visitors, and past members to join us for a
Cheese and Wine evening, by the courtesy of 'Waitrose'
