OUR September meeting found us a little thin on the ground!
The minutes were read and we were pleased to hear that we donated £43 to the village hall from the proceeds of our book stall at the fete last month. There is to be a 'fund raising' skittles match, with supper, next month at the Blue Bell at Ryall and members family and friends are welcome to come along.
We then settled back to enjoy our evenings entertainment, a talk and slide show - provided by Anthony Collis- entitled 'Swinging Ladies'. The ladies in question were pub signs depicting ladies and there were more than we could ever have imagined. Queens, Princesses, Royal Mistresses, Heroines and Film Stars all seemed to have made their way on to a pub sign at some time. Joy thanked Anthony at the end and refreshments were served to mark the end of another pleasant evening.
Our next meeting is October 6.
