WORCESTER & MALVERN NATIONAL TRUST CENTRE
Members of the Centre have recently enjoyed a day out to Powis Castle and Gardens, bequeathed to the National Trust by Lord Powis in 1952. This medieval fortress has been remodelled over the years, each generation adding magnificent collections of Art, Furniture and Tapestries. There is also the Clive Museum displaying a superb array of treasures from India. The Castle is surrounded by a 17th c garden, considered to be one of the finest baroque gardens in the care of the NT, with Grand Italianate Terraces, herbaceous borders and massive yew hedges. Wallace & Gromit would surely have pronounced this to have been “A Grand Day Out”.
