St James's Church will be Open for Business on Saturday week, September 10th, when The Friends of St James's will be holding a coffee morning and bring-and-buy sale from 10.30am - 1.00pm. As well as coffee and cakes, there will be stalls offering books and home produce as well as general bring and buy and bric-a- brac items. The Friends of the Parish Church of St James West Malvern, to give it its full title, is a registered charity. It is essentially a village organisation, independent of the Church of England, and is devoted to helping to maintain and improve the church building, facilities and grounds which make up such an valued part of our village life. Since its foundation 20 years ago, the Friends has raised many thousands of pounds through fundraising events, private donations and legacies. Among the projects it has supported have ranged from the recent major organ restoration, installation of a toilet, improved lighting in the church. and the provision of a strimmer for churchyard maintenance.
