Those energetic folk down at the Royal British Legion Club in Lower Road were never likely to let a Bank Holiday go by without marking it in some way! And sure enough they have laid on a double- header this weekend, with prize bingo tomorrow Saturday August 27at 8.30pm and then on Monday a free barbecue from 6pm-8pm followed by a fun night with skittles, bingo and a raffle. All welcome to join the fun.

And following last weekend’s arts and crafts event at the Legion, there is another attraction in the village Malvern this weekend, when Penny Vere will open her studio at 157 West Malvern Road as part of the county-wide Worcestershire Open Art Studios trail. Paintings, prints and card will be on view and for sale with refreshments available. The studio (next the village hall) will be open from 10.30am-5.30pm on Saturday and Monday, 12.30pm-5.30pm on Sunday.

Next Thursday September 1st, the Village Hall and Garden and Nature Club committees (there is some overlap between them!) will join forces for a coffee morning at the Hall from 10.30am- noon as part of the Macmillan Nurses ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. As usual there will doubtless be a marvellous selection of home made cakes and scones as well as teas and coffees. So if you can spare some time, do go along. Meet your neighbours and add your support to this most worthy cause, as well as rewarding the organisers for their hard work in staging the event – not forgetting the washers-up!
