The speaker at the meeting of the Malvern Probus Club on Monday 15th August was Mr Chris O’Loughlin. His talk was entitled “The Imminent Medical Revolution”. The large audience was astonished at the information he had gathered concerning technical advances in biomedical science which will be able to be incorporated into medical practice in the near future. There will be potentially large cost savings to be gained as well as possibilities to introduce such technology to emerging nations.
One thing which was clear however is that ,even today, each individual has the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising daily and controlling diet, things that can be measured, if necessary, with commonly available equipment from pharmacies.
